Sukham Annam

Sukham Annam, the flagship project of Kartavya Foundation, was born from a deeply moving moment when founder Laliltendu Jena saw a newspaper photograph of a man brushing ants off a chapati before eating, as his son underwent treatment at a government hospital in Cuttack. Struck by the silent hardship faced by countless caregivers—who often struggle to secure even a single proper meal due to lack of resources, access, and time—this moment inspired a sustained effort to serve them with dignity. Through Sukham Annam, the Bhubaneswar-based Kartavya Foundation provides free, coupon-linked meals to caregivers in two major hospitals in Cuttack, serving 1,100 meals daily at SCB Medical College and 900 meals daily at Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre, ensuring nourishment and care for those who care for others.
